EUDR compliance. Built in, not bolted on.
EU Regulation 2023/1115 creates a legal obligation for every EU importer and trader. Barrs is the infrastructure that makes compliance executable — for every actor in the supply chain.
EU Regulation 2023/1115 — Deforestation-Free Products.
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) prohibits placing regulated commodities on the EU market unless they are demonstrably deforestation-free and produced in compliance with the laws of the country of production.
Regulated commodities include cocoa, coffee, soy, palm oil, cattle, wood, rubber — and their derived products. Any operator or trader placing these on the EU market must perform due diligence and file a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) with EU customs.
Non-compliance carries penalties of up to 4% of annual EU turnover and confiscation of goods. Enforcement is active.
Every obligation. Addressed by infrastructure.
GPS-verified farm origin
Obligation
Operators must collect geolocation data for the land where the commodity was produced.
Barrs Solution
Barrs captures GPS polygon coordinates for every registered farm. Linked permanently to the farmer record and each certified lot.
Deforestation risk assessment
Obligation
Risk assessment of whether the relevant land was subject to deforestation after December 2020.
Barrs Solution
Each registered plot is assessed against deforestation risk databases. Risk classification recorded and attached to the DDS.
Chain of custody documentation
Obligation
Documentary evidence that the commodity has been handled in compliance from origin to EU import.
Barrs Solution
Barrs issues a cryptographically signed chain-of-custody certificate covering every point of transfer: farm → LBC → warehouse → export.
Due Diligence Statement
Obligation
A formal DDS must be submitted to the EU Information System prior to customs clearance.
Barrs Solution
Barrs auto-generates a regulation-compliant DDS for each certified lot, populated with GPS data, farm registration, and risk assessment. Ready to submit.
Country-of-production legal compliance
Obligation
Commodity must be produced in accordance with relevant legislation of the country of production.
Barrs Solution
Farm registration captures land-title, local regulatory compliance, and agent chain documentation at point of registration.
